Fall-Themed / Halloween-Themed Activities with Osmo in Your Classrooms!

October 11, 2021 / Educator Resources

Teachers! Are you ready for your students to creatively while using physics AND get into the spirit of Fall? Then check out Osmo Newton! For a fall-themed activity, students can use fall-themed items (leaves, pumpkins, gourds, fall-colored markers/crayons, fall decorations, etc.) to solve the creative physics puzzles. Just place the fall-themed objects in front of the screen and manipulate it to guide the falling balls into the target zones.

Want another idea for getting into the Fall spirit this year in your classroom? For a fun fall STEM or ELA station, have students spell out your own fun “secret” fall themed words using Osmo Words for kids! Beforehand, you’ll want to create your Osmo Words Album with photos and words of your Fall things and upload it to your tablets/devices. Examples of words to use could be pumpkin, sweater, Autumn, cider, colder temperatures, less daylight, harvest, etc and pictures could go along with those words.

Once your album has been uploaded to your tablets/devices, and when it’s time for your students to play Osmo Words, tell your students, “I’ve been thinking about the Fall season and all the fun things that go along with it. While you play Words today, see if you can figure out my secret Fall things!” Need help creating your custom Words Album? Check out this tutorial! Enjoy your Fall season!
